The 2023 Washington state legislative session has concluded, and we want to thank legislators for approving increases in Medicaid and non-Medicaid rates for community behavioral health. This funding is crucial for us to continue providing essential mental health services and substance use treatment to our communities, maintaining access to care as we navigate ongoing pressures from a historic workforce shortage.
As we look to the future, there is still more work to be done. We will continue to advocate for Washington to adopt the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model statewide. In many other states, this model has been proven to support sustainable funding for community behavioral health services, helping to ensure that everyone can get access to the care they need.
We encourage you to head to the CCBHC section of our website to learn more about our ongoing advocacy for CCBHCs: https://fourfrontcontributor.org/ccbhc-adoption/
